It now makes me angry and frustrated.
Is this permanent?
I've played for twelve years just to stop liking it?

don't let it get you down, it could well be a bad phase (easily facilitated by bad music).
Dude, you are playing in a conservatory level orchestra and completely holding your own. You are a really good cellist and you can't forget that. I don't know if this is the case or not, but whenever I compare myself to other people I hate the cello. When I do that I'm not playing for me which is complete bullshit, but extremely hard not to do. Sorry for all this rambled nonsense, but in short; DON'T LET THE BASTARDS GET YOU DOWN, try to play just for you (beatles, green day, anything!!!), listen to Elgar or the mighty Dvorak, watch Jackie pwn the shit out of it!!!!!, find a way to get that burning, all consuming, all out L.O.V.E. for the cello that I know you have again before you give up on it forever.
i like you. and you are totally right.
I know, right!
Now I just need to listen to my own wisdom....
